The SULA Collective LTD

The SULA Collective Ltd was born from a shared vision between Suzi and Laura about the kind of place we wished existed for our own children. Somewhere consistent and reliable, but also exciting. A place without lots of rigid rules, where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is messy, and confidence grows naturally through trying things out with other people. Think all the things you probably weren’t allowed to do in your parents’ kitchen - you can do them at SULA!

We’re often asked what SULA means. Quite simply, it comes from Su (Suzi) and La (Laura). But it’s come to represent much more than just our names.

SULA symbolises the coming together of two people with a shared passion for learning, creativity, and community, and the belief that confidence grows when people are given space to be curious, try things out, and connect with others. What started as a meeting of ideas has grown into a place built on collaboration, inclusivity, and the joy of learning together.

SULA grew from a simple brainstorm about what really matters to us: confidence, inclusivity, and fewer constraints and rigid rules. It quickly became clear that this wasn’t something just for children, but something we all need. A place for everyone.

SULA is about building a village as much as it is about building skills. It’s a space where confidence, curiosity, creativity, and human connection can grow side by side. Whether you want to try something new, build confidence in something you find tricky, or simply meet new people in a relaxed and welcoming environment, you belong here - no matter your age, background, or walk of life.

We believe in collaboration, in sharing strengths and knowledge, and in creating something together that’s bigger than any one person. SULA exists because learning, creativity, and confidence are better when they’re shared.

Between us, we’ve spent over 25 years working in education. We’ve worked across STEM, mental health, and pastoral care, and with people of all ages across early years, primary, secondary, and further education. We’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and how powerful learning can be when people feel safe, supported, and free to explore.

SULA is both a shop and a creative space. It’s somewhere you can come in, have a look around, try things out, and get involved. You can buy thoughtfully chosen STEAM toys, activities, and resources to take home, or join one of our hands-on workshops for all ages. They’re practical, playful, and built around doing, experimenting, and having a go.

More than anything, SULA is a place to be curious and to build confidence. It’s about being proud not just of what you’ve made, but of what you’ve learned along the way. We want people to walk out feeling happier, more capable, and able to say:

“Look what I can do.”

We hope to see you soon at SULA - come curious, leave confident.

Figuring things out by doing them.
