Learning has always been about more than lessons and worksheets for me , it’s about experiences, curiosity, and giving people the space to be themselves. I’m currently a primary teacher at a local school, with qualifications in Stem Leadership. i'm also a Mindfulness Practitioner and work using an holistic approach.
I have one son, and becoming a parent only deepened my belief in the importance of learning experiences that allow children to be free in their expression, creativity, and thinking. I love learning that feels natural and joyful, especially when it happens outdoors, through exploration, movement, and hands-on discovery.
SULA came together at the craziest but most perfect timing. Laura and I both had ideas, hopes, and plans for something that felt missing in our community, and when those ideas collided, everything clicked. What had been separate thoughts suddenly became something shared - and much bigger than either of us could have created alone.
I’m passionate about creating spaces where everyone feels safe to explore, try new things, and grow in confidence without pressure or rigid expectations. SULA is about possibility, connection, and learning that feels meaningful, and I’m so excited to see it grow alongside the community around it.
Curiosity has always been part of who I am. Growing up, I spent hours in my dad’s office taking apart old tower computers, helping fix them and figuring out how things worked. I was lucky to have parents who encouraged curiosity, creativity, and the belief that nothing is out of reach - values I now share with my own two children.
I work in the Further Education sector and wear many hats; lecturer, advisor, administrator, tech support, the list goes on - often all at once. I have a strong background in child and youth studies and a real love for hands-on, practical learning. I enjoy breaking things down, creating engaging sessions, and seeing that moment when confidence clicks and learning suddenly makes sense. That "a-ha" moment. I have a passion for removing barriers and helping people reach their full potential.
SULA was born after over a year of hard graft, coming close more than once, almost getting there, and holding onto the belief that if something is right, it will happen. When Suzi and I came together, it felt like a collision of ideas, passions, and timing. Something that had been so close but hadn’t quite worked out finally became what SULA is today.
I’m passionate about building relationships, understanding how people learn, and creating activities, experiences and a space where curiosity, creativity, and confidence can grow. With a wide network across different industries, I’m excited to collaborate with others to bring fresh, exciting workshops and masterclasses to SULA, and Bute.
We’ve got big plans for the years ahead, and we can’t wait to welcome the community into the space and see what grows next.
